Accessibility Statement

The Odisha Janta Congress Party believes that every Odia - including the approximately 12 lakh persons with disabilities in Odisha - deserves equal access to information about the party, our vision, and our public goals. This resolve flows from our vision's Viklanga Samartha initiative, which directs OJC to genuine inclusion as a constitutional right.

1. Our Resolve

OJC is working toward conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time project.

2. Features Currently in Place

• Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy (one H1 per page, logical H2/H3 nesting)
• Alternative text for content images
• Sufficient colour contrast between text and background (WCAG 2.1 AA)
• Resizable text up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
• Full keyboard navigation support across menus, forms, and interactive elements
• Skip-to-content link at the top of each page
• Form labels explicitly associated with every input
• Required field indicators that do not rely on colour alone
• Mobile-responsive design for phones, tablets, and small screens
• Bilingual content (Odia and English) with lang attributes
• ARIA live regions for form confirmation messages

6. Event Accessibility

For all OJC events including the April 8 founding launch: wheelchair access provided where venue permits; reserved seating for senior citizens and PwD; sign-language interpretation on request (48 hours notice); accessible toilets confirmed in advance.
